Name: The Steaming Bean Ease of NavigationThe Steaming Bean offers a site that is easy to navigate. The site has a consistent look and feel and contains high quality graphics. On the first page they do a great job of telling us who they are, what they sell and how to get their product. The Steaming Bean specializes in 'smoked' coffee and we find this out on the very first page. This signature style of roasting makes them a bit different than your average roaster and this piqued my curiosity.
Product DescriptionEach coffee they sell has a key beside it which describes the characteristics of the product. The key is a series of well designed icons which give the user an easy way to compare their products. In addition to describing the coffees they sell, they offer a nice description of their retail cafe facilities. These descriptions are complete with photographs and includes some of the specials available at each facility. Product KnowledgeAccording to the site, their master roaster has 25 years experience roasting coffee. He roasts to take into account variables in the weather, ambient temperatures and the like. By explaining this on their site, it reinforces the idea that they take the business of roasting very seriously and want to make sure your coffee is roasted to perfection. SummaryIn short, The Steaming Bean has an easy to use, friendly website which entices the visitors to purchase their goods. The main shortfall is that their ordering system is not secure. They do allow the user to check a box on their order form to let them know to call you for any payment information.
